Privacy and cookies

We collect as little as we can: no accounts, no advertising cookies, and one analytics tool you can turn off. Here is exactly what happens to your information.

What the calculator does with your spending

Nothing leaves your device. The amounts you type are worked out in your browser and are never sent to us or anyone else. Close the page and they are gone.

Cookies

We use one analytics tool, Google Analytics, to count visits and see which pages people find useful, so we can improve the site. You can turn it off below at any time.

Google Analytics (measurement ID G-0X4G76D3ES) sets its own cookies, named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, to tell one visit from the next. It records the pages you view, roughly where you are (from your IP address, which Google says it does not store), your device and browser, and how you arrived. Google provides the tool and processes this data for us. We have switched off Google’s own uses of it: Google signals and ad personalization are off, so it isn’t used for advertising or shared to profile you.

Turning analytics off stops it in this browser and deletes its cookies. We remember that choice in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie, so it lasts until you clear your browsing data.

We use no advertising or other tracking tools, and no other cookies.

One other outside service is contacted when a page loads: the footer’s DMCA.com copyright protection badge loads a small script from DMCA.com, so DMCA receives your IP address and browser details, like any website you load something from. The script sets no cookie; it only adds the address of the page you are on to the badge’s link, so DMCA can see where its badge appears.

We don’t sell or share your personal information

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising that follows you across other sites, as the privacy laws of California and other US states define selling and sharing. Google Analytics receives information about your visit only to measure this site for us, with Google’s advertising uses switched off. So there is nothing to opt out of, and we have no “Do not sell or share” form.

We also honor Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends that signal (Firefox, Brave and DuckDuckGo can, and extensions add it to others), Google Analytics stays off for you automatically, with no need to use the switch above.

What we do receive

Links to card issuers

When you follow an “Apply on the issuer’s site” link, you leave our site. The issuer’s own privacy policy covers anything you give them.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it is used. The only personal data we are likely to hold is an email you sent us. To make a request, write to team@bestcredit.cards. If you are in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Who is responsible

This page doesn’t name a registered company as the site’s operator: we name one only when its entry can be checked on an official company register (see our about page). Write to us about privacy at team@bestcredit.cards; we reply from that address.
